no more rum

i had a dream about alive last night. we were heading somewhere but i dont know where. and there were these very weird coloured stairs that we were on which i suspect was a distortion of what i saw in a late late late night taiwanese tv programme. the type of programmes that become slightly entertaining when one is on guard duty, as i was last night. the stairs were pretty cruel. there was no way of descending properly as with normal real stairs. they were like circles stacked one on top of the other. for some reason i was able to squeeze past each layer and step on the next. i remember andrea complaining about something in the dream.

Christmas is nearing! somehow that just makes the rest of the weeks seem brighter simply because i assume people will be in a holiday mood. which means work should get more relaxing. i hope.

donald rummy has quit. i realised how rarely i hear of politicians being sacked. they usually "resign". i sure will miss his ambiguous yet revealing statements. like the one that goes

There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know
