hello everybody..

sorrie this entry's gonna be a bit of a damper.
im having a somewhat crummy time now.
[HAHA.. understatement of the year]

sch is stressful cos of assignments and tests piling up.. with exams in the very near future.
and as usual.. parents asking me questions to which i dont have answers cos they're superly forward-minded and im just trying to deal with the here and now first.

and it's just tough to keep in mind that there will smehow be time for everything cos it all works out in god's plan smehow - dont ask me how. because i havent the FAINTEST idea.
how to trust that there will be enough time.. when.. there just isn't??

random stuff

um. it's 1am and i've just had a midterm (for intro to international relations) which was just a lot of writing. and my RA (residential assistant, i.e. student who is in charge of keeping in line) is playing a texas song for our texas friend, who just tumbled over the low wall (again) because he finds it more fun than walking around it. so yeah, its been an odd day. and i've been shocked by static a GABILLION times because it's so cold (8ºC) i have to wear a fleece which picks up static like a fuzzy bunny and shocks me like a tesla coil.

and um hey, he's semi-stripping in front of my ra in order to make her uncomfortable. awwwkkkwaarrd.

i think i wont be able to sleep early tonight. i just woke at 9pm. was at mos with some friends and only got home at 7am, intending to just shower slack and head to church for lil rock. but i got too sleepy and only made it for noon mass.

anyway, i learnt something important in clubbing last night - spot the trannies asap. when we hit the club my friend pointed out some super hot chicks to me and as i was looking he revealed they are transexuals. can you imagine what could've happened if one didnt know... ... ...

its a strange strange world out there. one day you may wake to find that your gf/wife used to be a bf/husband. and maybe surgeons are so cunning that you cant tell any difference. and since impotency isnt a superbly rare thing it wont be a telltale sign. or maybe you'll never find out and science would've played its most menacing trick on you.

i just finished reading The Silmarillion and in it theres a tale of Turin Turambar which is woeful to the highest degree. the hand of fate contrived such events that so tormented him and his household. oh and they all died.

and apparently the elves arent all holy and cool as we see them in Lord of the Rings. they had their bastard days too.

ok i need to find ways to want to sleep tonight or i'll be dead tomorrow if i cant wake up.

i'm listening to a song as i'm typing this entry and its one of my current favourites because its so bittersweet. its been played on radio quite often. do i listen to the radio often these days, you might ask. yes, because its a great companion when i inspect and repair rifle after rifle after rifle after rifle after rifle after rifle. and then rifle after rifle after rifle after rifle after rifle. stripping one after the other, and then the next and the next and the next.

one of the nights i even dreamt of rifles. and on another day, on returning from rifle after rifle ad infinitum, i laid on bed and imagined i was a rifle, to picture what it would be like in the life of lethal metal. its quite depressing. poor things.

intro:
there are four main factors which all play a role in bringing about the excessive hyperness of this normally perfectly sane person. i shall try and lay them out as clearly as i can below.

firstly: MY TEST IS OVER.
the dreaded test which i was freaking out over. it is over.
woohoo. haven't got the results back yet.
it seemed easier than the first one - which i failed by the way.
but i can never be sure.

secondly: i have watched my grey's anatomy!! the episode which i missed on monday cos i was studying for the above-mentioned test.
and im SOO glad i didn't watch it on mon night.
i would have died of devastation.
you know how many series have a way of ending the episode at the most suspenseful parts.. yeah.. that happened.
and mum catching me going "OH MY GOD" and "shit shit shit shit" "why did she do that?" and the like.. hysterically in front of the tv the day before a test would realli not have been a good thing - at all.

thirdly: I HAVE A NEW EYE CANDY.
OKAY damien.. you win. grrr.. re: smartass comment made by earlier mentioned smartass that he noes that i must like smeone at the moment.. that there must have been smebody for me to fill you all in on.
at that point in time.. there REALLI wasn't ok.
just met this guy in one of my classes today. rofl. and for once in my life.. it's not just a personality, just a smile or just a character trait that draws me to him. [not that these are all good traits for them to have]
and he's stamp chop certified hot. [my friend thinks so too]

BUT guys before you like get any ideas..

conclusion:
therefore this is why the subject - cher- is presently in a state of hyperness at the moment. it will not last, but it's alright. it's so fun in the moment. :D [taking a stand] personally, i feel that the main contributing factors are first and the third factors mentioned. Also, the result would not have been brought about if not for the action which came more or less directly before it - gushing to aunt about my day and re-living the happy [maloo] happy moments of the day. :D

hey guys.. im super sorry.. looks like im not free to meet up with you all this coming weekend. i have just been reminded by mum that my cousin's getting married and the wedding dinner is this friday. and then dad said that we will be having family lunch or dinner on sunday.. so my weekend is really quite full. and i've to find time smewhere in there to catch up with all the readings and assignments im supposed to be doing.

k so yes. russian lit. basically i'm reading works by russian authors (who are AWESOME) and no, sadly i haven't done nabokov, nor will be doing in this course. but i did kataev, platonov and my new favourite book is the master and margarita by mikhail bulgakov. everyone has to READ THIS BOOK AT LEAST ONCE IN THEIR LIFETIME i swear it's that good. it's like reading a painting, and you must read it to understand why i love it. it's very unexpected, right from the get go.

and yeah, i'm doing this because this is my advising group. i.e. basically you have a teacher who's your advisor and helps you choose courses and classes. so before we get here we choose classes and the class you get (i.e. russian lit) is the one whose teacher becomes your advisor. my teacher rocks. it's TOTALLY not like lit in singapore, he just speaks about the zeitgeist of the times and accuses people of being bourgeoise (i can spell that word now!!) and talks about how if you steal a potato plant from the kolkhoz (collective farm) you're a traitor and can be executed. i love it. for my first essay i wrote a speech denouncing e. e. cummings (who by the way writes his name as E. E. Cummings) as a Bourgeois Writer Hailing From The Dilapidated Hovel of Cambridge, Massechussetts.

gods i ache all over. hope everyone's doing fine - i love reading about home. tell me more! hope work's not swamping everyone, nor army.

i went back to the podiatrist yesterday and she was much friendlier. she even pasted a piece of black material over my blue insoles so that it'll blend into my army footwear.

i'm free this coming weekend if you guys want to meet up.

its almost confirmed that i'll have to stay in for the month of november for some course. probably will get out on saturdays and sundays if i'm lucky. half a saturday and a sunday if i'm not so lucky. half a sunday, if i have guard duty and therefore am unlucky.

yeah its because i had block leave while awaiting my posting, where as those who dropped out were almost immediately posted to do admin work while waiting for their next posting. admin work that allowed them to sometimes leave early. and sometimes get off.

i had my podiatry appointment today to get new insoles for my flat feet. my specialist was a rather pompous british. she asked me what my problem was and i said i'm flat footed. she replied "thats a condition not a problem". later on after some tests she explained that part of my legs are curved and i asked if that included my thighs. except i pronounced it "tighs". she replied "no not your" and, catching my mispronunciation, she shook her head in disgust and said "thighs (emphasis on th), just this portion".

to her credit though she really knows her stuff. and she became friendlier towards the end. i lose my tongue when facing british accents.

russian lit paper? how interesting. what exactly are you doing? english translations of russian material, or russian material written originally in english? or both?

k so i'm not doing my russian lit paper which was due 2.5hours ago. but i'm sitting outside my professors office typing it so i can catch him when he comes in to get the papers. i suspect he's not coming in to get them, but it's peaceful here so i'm staying here until i finish it. the incentive is very persuasive - the bench here is hard and painful and getting off the bench would be beneficial for my butt.

damn, damien. any particular reason why there's schizer like that going on? makes no sense whatsoever..is it because of your block leave?

and i just noticied. my blog id is one digit shorter than this blog's id, despite it having the same first digit. that is (#*%&#ing scary, the number of blogs around.

i wonder whose blog id is number 1.

four days

when i first found out that i have only 4 days of leave this year i was actually quite ready to accept it. we had block leave (forced leave) after the tekong days so some of my annual leave was spent there.

but i just found out that some fellas with me have as many as 10 or 11 days because they didnt complete bmt. people who went "out of course".

i dont know if the unfairness is immediately noticeable but i cant say much here because, well, a certain fairly high ranking official just warned us not too long ago that they have eyes everywhere. so hello eyes of the green. if you guys are reading this, do something about it.

not a very good way to start not a very good week.
